I am just posting to let you guys know what's going on. It has been brought to my attention that somebody is posting all the stories from here over at serenitymovie.org without asking permission first. This person has created an account at that forum called "ff_fanfic" and is using it solely for posting the fic from this comm. They did not ask me if they could do this; I did not sanction it. However, I am going to be emailing the forum's maintainers and apprising them of the situation immediately.

I encourage you all to check the forum out and see if anything of yours has been posted without your permission. And if it has, please comment on this post with the name of the story and the url of the offending post. That way, if I need to, I can compile a list for the forum mods. Please do not email them yourselves, though. I know it's tempting, but if everyone emails them, they will have hundreds of emails all saying the same thing! Instead, please allow me to try and resolve this issue first. If I am unable to resolve it myself, I will let you all know right away so that you can take whatever action you deem appropriate.

Thank you, guys! I'm sorry this is happening, but I have faith that we'll be able to resolve it soon. I will post again here when I know more, so keep an eye out for updates.

It's certainly not your fault! It must be a real pain for you to have to start contacting people about it.

Well, it's a bit annoying, true, but I just think to myself how much more frustrating it must be to discover that your fic is being posted somewhere without your consent. :-\ And that's what gives me the motivation I need to keep on this for you guys. Because if it was one of MY fics up there? (And who's to say that it isn't? This has apparently been going on since Feb.) I would be really angry about it, and I'd want somebody to make it right.

It's so rude! I guess I would be somewhat less annoyed if the posts also included the names of the original authors, but from the few I looked at, it doesn't look that way. So that makes it extra annoying! I'd love to know how someone set the whole thing up - and who it was, too. I mean, I don't know much about automatic feeds, but someone must set it up in the first place, right?

Yes, somebody had to set it up in the first place. LJ doesn't normally feed to serenitymovie.org, after all. And I know *I* didn't set it up.

I'ved asked the board admins if they know who it was, but I haven't heard back yet on that matter. However, they are deleting the posts and disabling the bot, so yay for forward progress! :-)
