“Captain!” Kaylee hollered. “Tell Jayne to stop!”
“Jayne, stop. What’s he doing this time?” Mal asked.
“I’m just singin’ is all,” Jayne said.
“He’s butchering the song,” Kaylee said.
“Its called updating.”
“It wasn’t out of date!”
“What’s the song?”
“The Fight Song of Independents.”
“Aw Jayne! Anything but that. Take Zoe’s wedding chorals instead.”
Over the intercom: “I can and will hurt you both,” Zoe warned.
Simon made a big mistake then: he walked into the room and asked “What’s going on?”
“I was trying to sing,” Jayne answered.
“You sing?”
“When the mood strikes.”
“I’ll strike,” Kaylee muttered.
“Can I hear?” Simon asked.
“No!”
“Sure,” Jayne said, and belted out: “Take my love,
“Take my land,
“Take me til I can not stand.”
~~~~~~
The end.
author's note: I almost added _Jayne grinned._ after Kaylee threatened to strike. think I shoulda put that in?
Date: 2005-08-16 07:43 pm (UTC)I don't really understand the rating system since I'm Swedish...
clarification
Date: 2005-08-16 08:14 pm (UTC)Sorry for not being clear. My mistake.
What made it PG-17 (not for anyone under 17 years of age), was the play on words "take me until I can not stand."
again, sorry for the confusion.
Re: clarification
Date: 2005-08-16 08:34 pm (UTC)one more thing for the clarification
Date: 2005-08-16 08:35 pm (UTC)remember in 'War Stories', where Zoe tells Mal "Take me, sir"?
that was what I'd changed the theme song lyric to...when it had previously been more of "to take something from someone".
I hope that explanation helped. if not, please let me know.
the rating system
Date: 2005-08-16 08:36 pm (UTC)if I might ask, what rating system does your country use? *curious*
if you don't want to reply to that, you don't have to.
Re: the rating system
Date: 2005-08-16 08:58 pm (UTC)BT - allowed for everyone
7 yrs
11 yrs
15 yrs
and adult, 18
All of these except the one at 15 yrs are without adult company. If the child goes with the company of an adult then it's judged by a lower level.
Which means, a child of 11 can see a movie where the age limit is 15 in adult company.
I checked the law regarding this and it's mostly used if the movie has violence that causes psychological damage...or something like that.
In Sweden, we're sort of ignorant of sex and nudity. ;)
And there is no rating for TV really or books...not that I know of anyway.
That's why this rating stuff with fanfic means that often I have no idea what ppl are talking about...
Re: the rating system
Date: 2005-08-16 09:14 pm (UTC)The age limits of 15 and adult are fixed despite adult company, the others are as I said though. ;)
