Summary: Charles Womak, the dirty cop who once insulted Jayne's hat, had a twin, and both he and his twin carried a rare gene that, when activated, allowed them to see and hear and smell more than humanly possible, and it also left them vulnerable to overloading spikes and seizure-like zones. Charles didn't get experimented on, but Captain James Ellison Womak, a loyal purplebelly and Alliance warrior, was pulled into the same Institute that experimented on River. And now, he's broken out, and this old war horse is about to run into another old war horse, a man who has very little patience when it comes to Alliance captains, and even less when it comes to people getting turned into experiments. But more importantly, Jim with his senses and his military background has come out of the Institute with a better understanding of it than River ever had. One thing two old war horses can agree on is that some people just don't deserve to keep breathing.
Rating: NC-17
Characters: Post-BDM for Firefly, crossover characters from The Sentinel.
Pairing: Jim/Blair from The Sentinel as an established pair. Moving into Mal/Jayne later

Disclaimer: Not mine--blah, blah, blah
Author's Note: This is a crossover with The Sentinel. The same actor who played Charles Womak played Detective James "Jim" Ellison who teams up with an anthropologist (Blair Sandburg) in order to try and get control of his Sentinel genes.
