Fic: To put her back together; R Zoe/Inara
Title: To put her back together
Author: smurf
Summary: She shouldn't have come, shouldn't have asked.
Rating: R
Characters: Zoe, Inara, mention of others
Pairing: Zoe/Inara (slash)
Spoilers/Timeline: Set at the end of BDM
Disclaimer: They're not mine, I just test drive.
Author's Notes: Yes, I used the cheesy pronoun, was just feeling in that mood this morning, and thought it added an extra closeness to the POV character without the use of first person.
Words: 290
She shouldn't have come, shouldn't have asked. Problem was she knew herself too well, knew the depth of her brokenness, how much of herself Wash had held together, and most of all the physicalness she needed now to right herself.
She tried not to tremble as soft hands removed her clothing and firmly led her to the plush bed. Didn't succeed.
She'd given this thought; never did anything without thought. The others couldn't see her broken. Had Mal the power to do this for her, she would never had needed Wash. Secrets and actions behind closed doors, left off lips. The second the shuttle door had opened, those steady and trained brown eyes had told her the other woman would comply. And she had sighed knowing words to ask wouldn't be needed.
Gentle hands over her naked flesh. Warm sponge dipping to cleanse away every past splash of blood. Water drops trembling down her seated, shivering body. Shushes to calm her, relax her, allow her to fall into that puddle of grieving widow she needed to be, if only in transition.
The first tear was kissed away, and then the next. She was lowered to the bed, hands massaging her warming flesh. Breasts pressed against her belly as her own were suckled.
And she cried for she would come out of this mended. A mouth paused between her legs, blew warm breath and made her need pool stronger in all those womanly parts she'd once promised to only Wash.
Brown eyes in that pretty, pale face looked up at her, crowned by flowing dark curls. Thank you would never be enough. A knowing smile on supple lips, and they both agreed words for their actions tonight would never be needed.

I mean, I don't even like femslash most of the time, and Zoe/Inara is totally my sekrit kink (and if you add Mal into the mix, then it's just asklfdjfgh . . .). This was fabulous. Image piled on top of image with just the right amount of Zoe-POV.
Fantastic.

Thanks. Glad you liked, and that the way I layered imagery and Zoe's thoughts worked.

Stop, you're giving me plotbunnies. *steels off to think of Zoe/Mal/Inara threesomes*

for me. It's just so gorgeously twisted and angstful. I'm halfway through a Z/M/I fic myself, so GO. WRITE. I'm not allowed to be the only one shipping them.no subject
I see more Mal/Zoe/Simon, Mal/Inara/Simon and Zoe/Inara/Jayne, but with Zoe around to knock some heads to together when things get out of hand with the angst Mal/Zoe/Inara would work rather well. Besides, oh my god the very very pretty.

Not sure I'd looked much at the pairing before this, but besides just the pretty they do make a good match up.
