She shouldn't have come, shouldn't have asked. Problem was she knew herself too well, knew the depth of her brokenness, how much of herself Wash had held together, and most of all the physicalness she needed now to right herself.

She tried not to tremble as soft hands removed her clothing and firmly led her to the plush bed. Didn't succeed.

She'd given this thought; never did anything without thought. The others couldn't see her broken. Had Mal the power to do this for her, she would never had needed Wash. Secrets and actions behind closed doors, left off lips. The second the shuttle door had opened, those steady and trained brown eyes had told her the other woman would comply. And she had sighed knowing words to ask wouldn't be needed.

Gentle hands over her naked flesh. Warm sponge dipping to cleanse away every past splash of blood. Water drops trembling down her seated, shivering body. Shushes to calm her, relax her, allow her to fall into that puddle of grieving widow she needed to be, if only in transition.

The first tear was kissed away, and then the next. She was lowered to the bed, hands massaging her warming flesh. Breasts pressed against her belly as her own were suckled.

And she cried for she would come out of this mended. A mouth paused between her legs, blew warm breath and made her need pool stronger in all those womanly parts she'd once promised to only Wash.

Brown eyes in that pretty, pale face looked up at her, crowned by flowing dark curls. Thank you would never be enough. A knowing smile on supple lips, and they both agreed words for their actions tonight would never be needed.
