Summary: Just before the jump to Earth, the Fleet comes into contact with a small transport ship of non-Colonial origins. (AU after Revelations)

Author's Note: I wrote the original Out of the Black over a year ago, and looking back was not pleased with it at all, there was so much I wanted to do with the story that I just didn't pull off and so I decided to rewrite it, do more justice to both of the stories I wanted to tell. The original story is still archived at ootbverse and will remain there.
