Summary: River returns, after a year, to find the Serenity wounded and in need of help, but she's not alone, and her company might not be well received, as well as the discovery that the pilot Mal hired knew of River all along.

No, this fic never died, I've just been uber busy (short pieces are always easier for me) and me busy, means me giving my poor beta too much work to edit, so this particularly long task was just patiently waiting.
