Fanfic Community

So, you know those lovely livejournal communities where you get 100 themes and then you stake your claim to a pairing and post 100 fics?  Well, if you're anything like me, you may be a dabbler in fanfic or busy, or maybe just lazy and you know you'll get 23 fics in and lose steam ... well, fear not!  For verily, I have created a more lazy-minded community*: [profile] ficmonthly

It goes thus: each month, we vote on a theme.  Like, for instance, "coffee," or "telephones," or maybe, "the number sixteen."  We'll think of things.  Then when we have the theme, we'll write a fic.  Each to our own character, pairing, or series.  Only, more than one person can write per character/pairing/series.  And there's only one type of banned pairing, which is Real People.  Harry Potter is allowed, Daniel Radcliffe is not.  But anything else is okay.  Squid/Hogwarts, Mal/Serenity, Mal/Badger, Boomer/RandomToasterFromCaprica ... pretty much anything.  And yes, satire-fic is allowed.  (In fact, encouraged.  It would be fun.)

"Wait, wait!" I hear you cry.  "I looked, and it says it's not actually at the lj comm!"  Well ... it's not.  It's actually over at Eos Cormorantine,** my webboard.  [profile] ficmonthly is a reference community, which will post to your f-lists every time we put up the next month's poll, or fic thread.

Any questions?  Just ask!

*Nothing wrong with those, really.  I'm just ... lazy ...
**Membership is open, and while I'd love to have you participate in other bits of the webboard, it is not at all required.  Really, my goal here is low-stress.
