You know what? I enjoyed it. Interesting takes on the previous relationships, and why Xander was turned (poor Xander!). I'm intrigued at what River will have to say about them, and why Zoe gave them tingles, but not Mal (what? Not Mal? *g*).

Even amidst a grieving ship, Kaylee is still the brightest star. Bless her cheerful soul.

I'm curious where Inara is? What did the crew steal from the planet? What did you have in mind for a continued dynamic between Spike, Xander, and Serenity's inhabitants?

I kind of like the fact that these two men stumble upon a ship that's not yet found it's rhythm after Miranda. That much is clear. The crew seem to be living hand to mouth and not doing much more than coping.

Could Serenity draw Spike and Xander back to being willing to include humans into their lives? And what about the Tams? Are they still being hunted? Will the vampires get caught up in the Alliance intrigue as Mal continues to do what he does best?

Lots of potential in this gem. I'd love to see you go forward with it. Thanks for posting!
