Summary: What happened after the war stayed there, until they had no place to go but the black.
Notes: Forrazycrandomgirl, who asked for Mal/Zoe, which I hadn't written in a long while, so I'm hoping it's, well, believable. Setting is pre-series. This goes slightly into AU territory, and assumes there was a longer time-span from when Mal and Zoe left the camps after the war, to when Mal bought Serenity.
